Working with twin ferrule fittings (SOG)

Purpose group

This course is intended for employees who need to (re)assemble fittings on a (petrochemical) industrial site.

Learning objective

During this course, participants will learn to assemble instrumentation fittings correctly and to recognize other types and brands of fittings to avoid mixing up parts.

Theory

Pipe aspects.
Material handling.
Assembly instructions.

Practice

Recognizing different brands, sizes and materials.
Making a workpiece according to work assignment.
Assembly exercise with three different fittings.

Input requirements

The candidate must be at least 18 years old, with the exception of students taking the training as part of obtaining an entry-level qualification. For them, the minimum age is 16.
The candidate must have one of the following diplomas: B-VCA, VOL-VCA, VIL-VCU, SCC-17 or SCC-18.

Languages

The SOG exam is available in Dutch, English and German.

Course duration

Without experience: 2 days (4 half-day sessions) (with a maximum of 16 participants).
With experience: 1.5 days (3 half-days) (with a maximum of 16 participants).
Repetition: 1 day (1.5 day parts).

Diploma

According to the SSVV Training Guide (SOG).
Validity: 5 years.
Successful participants are registered in the Central Diploma Register: https://cdr.ssvv.nl
