Target Group
The course Working on flange connections according to protocol (SOG) is designed for industrial employees who are responsible for opening and closing flange connections in accordance with an applicable protocol. This is essential to ensure safety and accuracy in working environments such as the petrochemical industry and refineries.
Do you have no or limited experience with flange connections and would you like to first build a solid foundation? Then the training Flange Fitter Basic is a logical starting point.
Do you already have practical experience and would you like to further deepen your knowledge of flange protocols, bolt loads and gasket pressure? Then take a look at the training Flange Fitter Advanced.
Learning Objective
Participants learn how to safely and responsibly open and close flange connections, with an emphasis on applying the correct tightening torque in accordance with established protocols.
Theory
- Basic concepts of flange connections.
- Overview of relevant legislation.
- General and specific safety rules.
- Technical knowledge of flanges, bolts, gaskets, and assembly materials.
- Use of tools and measuring instruments for flange work.
Practical Training
- Safety rules and preparation for flange work.
- Correct working posture, use of equipment, dismantling, cleaning, aligning, and tightening of flanges.
- Inspection and finishing of the performed work.

- 1 day with existing prior knowledge via our online preparation or refresher course: € 329.00 excl. VAT
- 2 days without prior experience: € 529.00 excl. VAT
Admission Requirements
- Participants must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid VCA certificate or SCC certificate is required.
Exam Languages
The exam is available in Dutch and English.
Certificate
After successfully passing the exam, the certificate is registered in the SSVV Diploma Register and is valid for 5 years.
Location
The courses are provided at multiple locations in the Netherlands and can also take place at your own location.
