Working with Torque and Tensioning equipment (SOG)
Purpose group
Employees in industry who open and close flange connections according to protocol using torque and tensioning equipment.
Learnings objective
To safely and responsibly open and close flange connections with the prescribed torque and/or force in the bolted connection.

Exams
The SOG exam is available in Dutch, English, German, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian.
Entrance requirements
The candidate must be at least 18 years old. An exception is made for students taking the course as part of obtaining an entry-level qualification. A minimum age of 16 applies to them.
The candidate must hold one of the following diplomas: B-VCA, VOL-VCA, VIL-VCU, SCC-17 or SCC-18.
The candidate must hold the certificate “Working on flange connections according to protocol” (SOG).
Course duration
1 day (2 half-day sessions) (excluding exam) with a maximum of 8 students.
Refresher course: 1 day (2 half-days).
NEN-EN 1591-4
The course is aligned with NEN-EN 1591-4:2013 Table 2 (training matrix for hydraulic tension tightening) and Table 3 (training matrix for hydraulic torque tightening).
Diploma
According to the SSVV Training Guide (SOG).
Validity: 5 years.
Successful participants are registered in the Central Diploma Register: cdr.ssvv.nl

€ 259,00 per person. For in-company, a minimum of 6 participants applies.

The Torque and Tensioning course is designed for the mechanic who works on bolted connections with hydraulic torque and tensioning equipment.

Principles of controlled unloading and tightening of flange connections.
Working according to protocol (closing procedure).

Enrty requirements

Diploma
According to Article 8 of the Dutch Working Conditions Act – Information and instruction.
Validity: 5 years.
