What is independent respiratory protection?

Independent respiratory protection is used when the surrounding air is not suitable for breathing, for example due to oxygen deficiency or the presence of hazardous substances. In this case, the user breathes air from an independent source, such as a self-contained breathing apparatus or an airline breathing system.

After completion, you will receive a certificate registered in the ELCONY Diploma Register, which is valid for 5 years.

Working with independent respiratory protection with SOG

Target group

The SOG-recognised course Working with Independent Respiratory Protection is intended for employees who work for clients where an officially recognised certificate is mandatory.

When is respiratory protection (SOG) mandatory?

  • When working in environments with insufficient oxygen.
  • When exposed to hazardous substances.
  • In the (petro)chemical industry.
  • For clients working according to SSVV requirements.

After passing the exam, the certificate is registered in the SSVV Diploma Register and is valid for 3 years.

Course duration and price

  • 1 day with existing prior knowledge via our online preparation or refresher course: € 329.00 excl. VAT
  • 2 days without prior experience: € 529.00 excl. VAT

Medical fitness

A valid medical fitness certificate is mandatory for working with independent respiratory protection. This certificate must be provided by the employer and is required for both training and examination.
