Torque and tensioning are controlled methods for tightening and loosening bolted connections. Torque uses a predefined torque value, while tensioning works by elongating the bolt using hydraulic tension. Both techniques are essential for safe and reliable flange and bolted connections.

Torque and Tensioning without SOG

Target group

This training is suitable for fitters who work with hydraulic torque and tensioning equipment for clients where no SOG obligation applies.

When do you choose Torque and Tensioning without SOG?

  • Your client does not require an SOG certificate.
  • You work according to internal safety procedures.
  • You want to learn in a practice-oriented way without an external SOG exam.

After completion, you will receive a certificate registered in the ELCONY Diploma Register, which is valid for 5 years.

Torque and Tensioning with SOG

Target group

The SOG-recognised Torque and Tensioning course is intended for fitters who work for clients where an officially recognised certificate is mandatory.

When is Torque and Tensioning (SOG) mandatory?

  • When working in the (petro)chemical industry.
  • During maintenance shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • For clients working in accordance with SSVV requirements.
  • At locations with strictly regulated safety procedures.

After passing the exam, the certificate is registered in the SSVV Diploma Register and is valid for 5 years.
